Getting started

Install RelayBridge RC1

Download, verify, and install RelayBridge v1.0.0-rc.1 on a supported Windows 10 or Windows 11 x64 machine.

Use the supported bootstrapper

The supported clean-machine installer is RelayBridge-Setup-1.0.0-rc.1-win-x64.exe. The Burn bootstrapper verifies and installs the prerequisite closure before chaining the RelayBridge MSI. The standalone MSI on the release page is an advanced or support asset, not the normal clean-machine path.

Unsigned public release candidate

RC1 is intentionally not Authenticode-signed. Windows may show Unknown Publisher and Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may warn. Verify the published SHA-256 before running the installer. A signed stable release is not yet available.

Acquire the installer and published checksum through the RelayBridge download and verification page, which links to the official GitHub Release.

Install on Windows

  1. Download the bootstrapper and SHA256SUMS.txt.Use only the official v1.0.0-rc.1 GitHub Release.
  2. Verify the checksum.Compare the bootstrapper hash with the complete published value. Windows administrators can calculate it with Get-FileHash.
  3. Run the bootstrapper as an administrator.Do not start a normal clean-machine installation from the MSI.
  4. Review Microsoft Graph terms. The installer crosses this terms boundary before acquiring the exact locked Graph and Entra packages.
  5. Complete installation.Allow the bootstrapper to install or verify its prerequisite closure and install the per-machine RelayBridge service.
  6. Open RelayBridge interactively.Use the offered first-run action or the RelayBridge desktop shortcut on the local machine.
Get-FileHash .\RelayBridge-Setup-1.0.0-rc.1-win-x64.exe -Algorithm SHA256

What the bootstrapper manages

The bootstrapper embeds the exact .NET Runtime 10.0.11 and ASP.NET Core Runtime 10.0.11 installers. RelayBridge also packages private PowerShell 7.6.4 and ExchangeOnlineManagement 3.9.2 tooling.

Microsoft Graph Authentication 2.25.0, Microsoft Graph Applications 2.25.0, Microsoft Entra Authentication 1.3.0, and Microsoft Entra Applications 1.3.0 are acquired from Microsoft's official PowerShell Gallery during installation. Their locked sizes and hashes are verified before protected provisioning.

RelayBridge-owned application source is MPL-2.0. Microsoft, WiX, .NET, PowerShell, ExchangeOnlineManagement, Graph, Entra, and other dependencies keep their respective licenses and are not relicensed by RelayBridge.

First browser launch

After a fresh interactive installation, the bootstrapper can offer to open RelayBridge. The management opener waits for the local health endpoint, then opens the Microsoft setup route in the signed-in user's default browser.

Quiet and passive installs do not open a browser. Repair, upgrade, and uninstall do not automatically reopen first-run setup. The desktop shortcut remains the normal way to open the local management interface.
